Kathy Reed

Kathy studied at Carolyn Mahar School of Dance, Janet Spear School of Dance, Boston Conservatory, South Shore Conservatory and Carnegie School of Dance. She has danced on and off Broadway in shows, including “Pippin”, and has worked with dance legends Ben Vereen and Bob Fosse. She has been a Comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor, Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Member and CSC Sync. Coach for 20 years. Her passion for helping students achieve their health and fitness goals through Pilates is unmatched. Kathy Founded the Whitman Academy of Performing Arts in 1977, which has evolved into Reed Performing Arts & Pilates Center. Many of her former students have worked on Off-Broadway productions, cruise lines, musical revues, television and several are now instructors. Dr. Jimmy Slyde, late tap legend and dear friend, referred to Kathy as a “master teacher”.

Roger Reed

Roger has been mastering a wide variety of string, wind, reed, brass and percussion instruments for over 60 years.  During this time he has composed and recorded over 1,700 musical works.  He has performed at a variety of live events and festivals and alongside several recording artists.  Roger has also contributed to multiple articles in “Dancer Magazine”.  He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and has Absolute Pitch, where he is able to identify any note by ear.  His passion for music inspired him to share his knowledge and he began giving music lessons in 1986.  Many of his current and former students have gone on to write, teach and perform music.
